Sui Generis – Anime Without Peer
Every now and then an anime comes along which is so out-there on-its-own there are no sequels, rip-offs or tributes. Would you believe there’s a series about a medieval dinotopia where Soccer is the religion played by super-powered anthropomorphic dinosaurs, furries and those minority humans play Soccer as the national religion? Or a centaur just trying to fit in to a society that takes political correctness to police-state levels? Or a bunch of high schoolers who decide to join a civilian Antarctic mission? Or a multi-planetary illegal road race? Or an anime where chase scenes roam across backgrounds that are fully animated? Or where a demon king and her human hero scheme to introduce human society to basic macroeconomic theories and crop-rotation? Or one where characters from a medieval-fantasy dimension patronize a modern Tokyo restaurant? Or one where personifications of blood cells deliver oxygen and fight off bacteria? There are quite a few peerless anime out there, join us and share some of our favorites.
