Synthetic biology aims to create organisms that maintain and propagate themselves while producing a desired outcome, whether that is flowers that glow in the dark, cells that produce rare drugs, or architectural organisms that serve as living homes. We'll discuss technologies that are available now, illustrative examples, and possible dangers of synthetic life.
